The Case
The Problem
Despite the rise in music streaming platforms, listeners still face disruptions from advertisements, especially during worship music, where uninterrupted connection is vital. Ads between songs distract and disrupt spiritual engagement, diminishing the overall experience. A user-engaging, advert-free, 24-hour online radio station dedicated to worship music is needed to provide a seamless and immersive listening experience.
The Goal
Develop a 24-hour online radio station dedicated exclusively to worship music, offering an uninterrupted, immersive listening experience free of advertisements. By removing ads, the design will prioritize a distraction-free environment. The platform should also ensure that listeners feel engaged and part of the community, providing insights into the song schedule and some influence over the curated music. This will enhance engagement and overall user satisfaction.
The Solution
Working with a dedicated team, we created an advertisement-free, 24-hour online radio station that now boasts the highest number of daily listeners in Nigeria. Utilizing the latest Progressive Web App (PWA) technology, the web application operates smoothly across various platforms and devices, greatly enhancing the overall user experience.
My Role
As the UI Designer, I worked on the design process, ensuring seamless navigation and the integration of a live streaming API for continuous music playback. This project required a careful balance of technical integration and aesthetic appeal, grounded in a cohesive design system.
My role was pivotal in addressing these challenges, focusing on creating a visually compelling and user-friendly interface. By adhering to best practices and design principles, I ensured that the platform was not only highly functional but also delivered an engaging and intuitive user experience.

The Process
We conducted a comprehensive survey to gather insights from potential users regarding their experiences with music streaming applications. The objective was to explore listeners' preferences for customizing their streaming experiences.
Our findings revealed that the majority of users do not subscribe to premium plans and, as a result, are frequently interrupted by advertisements while listening to worship music. Additionally, users expressed frustration over the lack of feedback options, the inability to influence song selection, and the absence of control over the tempo or order of songs.
In response to these insights, we developed tailored user stories addressing these issues. Employing Agile methodology, we progressed through multiple sprints, delivering valuable increments and incorporating feedback in each iteration. This iterative process ensured that we consistently addressed and met the needs of our users.
